Every solar, wind and battery project in the planning system, joined to the grid capacity that decides whether it can actually connect. Enter your Eircode or the name of your town and see what has been lodged nearby, what was decided, and whether the local substation has room.
Enter an Eircode, or a town, village or townland name. Only the routing key — the first three characters — is used and it is never stored: that places you within a few kilometres of your town, which is all this needs, and Eircode's full address database is licensed and not public anyway. All 139 routing keys in the country are covered.
Coverage
Every planning authority that publishes into the national planning register is covered — 31 of them. Areas are listed under the authority that holds the application, so a village on a county boundary appears under each of its councils; the lookup above names the county beside every result for that reason.

How it works
Applications come from the national planning register, and from An Coimisiun Pleanala's own case register for the Strategic Infrastructure Development schemes that are decided there and never appear on a council's. Grid capacity comes from ESB Networks' published station data. The hard part is joining the two, because nothing in either source shares an identifier with the other — a project's townland has to be recognised as the place a substation is named after. Where that match is not confident enough, we say so rather than guess: 1146 of 2190 projects are recorded as unmatched.

We track every solar, wind and battery application in the national planning register — and the large ones made directly to An Coimisiun Pleanala, which never reach a council register at all — as they move through planning, and which substations still have capacity to take a connection.
